(1)A person may apply to the Inspector General for a member of the Force to be assigned to him or her on special duty.
(2)The Inspector General, on being satisfied of the need for the assignment applied for under subsection (1), may detail such number of police officers as he or she thinks fit on such terms and conditions as he or she considers necessary.
(3)A police officer assigned on duty under subsection (2) shall be under the command of the officer in charge of police in the area to which he or she has been assigned on duty.
(4)The person to whom a police officer is assigned under subsection (2) shall meet the cost of the assignment.
(5)One-third of any money collected under subsection (4) shall be paid into the Police Welfare Fund and the remainder into the Consolidated Fund.
